Wreath Workshop

Every year my coworkers and I go to the wreath-making workshop at Monticello. It’s become one of my favorite parts of the Christmas preparations. Monticello grounds-keepers gather all kinds of different natural materials from around the property, and we spend half a day learning how it all works, figuring out our design scheme for the year, gathering everything we want to use, and then making a beautiful wreath that we’ll each hang up or use as a table centerpiece. We have a lot of fun looking at what each person has come up with, and afterward it’s so nice to have a real, handmade wreath to look at and make December all the more festive.
