On our second night at Bright Angel campground, Chris and I took a moonlit stroll on the River Trail. We had a great time star-gazing and working on our nighttime photography skills. We spent a lot of time finding the perfect boulders to set the camera on, and 30 second exposures allowed us to capture the stars as well as lots of nighttime details. We couldn’t believe how the camera was able to pick up the reds in the rocks that we couldn’t even see. It was a beautiful moonrise – the shadows moving along the Canyon walls, and the night was so peaceful… just the stillness of the rocks to the tune of the rushing Colorado rapids.
