The second weekend in May was totally insane for us. Our friend, Nick, got married. Chris headed down to Sarasota, FL on Tuesday for a few days of bachelor party festivities, and I joined him on Friday for the wedding that evening. On Saturday I went up to Tampa to meet up with my friend Cat and her gals for her bachelorette party, and my sister came out to join us. Sunday morning Chris hitched a ride to the Tampa airport, I picked him up, and we headed to my parents’ house for Mother’s Day. How in the world the stars aligned and four separate events happened on the same weekend, in the same place, I’ll never know. It was a total whirlwind, but we had a great time.
Nick and Amy’s wedding was at the Hyatt Regency right on the Sarasota Bay. We kicked off the big day with outdoor waterfront yoga with the bride… Chris even came out for the class! Then we enjoyed some time by the pool, grabbed a delicious brunch at the Toasted Mango Cafe, and got ready to party. We went from the ceremony on the patio to the cocktail hour by the pool to the dinner/dance party in the ballroom. The drinks flowed, the food was amazing, the dessert was cake pops, and the dance party lasted until they kicked us out!
For the bachelorette party on Saturday we gorged ourselves on tapas and sangria at Ceviche and then hit the bars in Soho. We had a blast, and I think Cat is officially ready to get married now!
Sunday we wrapped things up with our day with the fam… Cuban sandwiches for lunch, some time at the pool, and presents and a homemade dinner for Mom. By the time we went home on Monday we were ready for another vacation!
My first flight from Cville to Dulles was so delayed it ended up landing after my second flight landed in Tampa. Thank you, United, for buying me a cab ride to IAD!
Another great part of the trip down
