Driving by the numbers

So I know I said I’d post the photos from our road trip today, but I changed my mind (birthday girl’s prerogative). I’ll be back next week with all the pictures and the full details of our travels, but I decided today to give you a little teaser about our trip by sharing the data we collected on our journey. You know Chris and I are suckers for some good data. Here are the stats:

  • Clapps – 3 (1 canine)
  • Cars – 2 (1 in tow)
  • States –  9 (VA, WV, MD, PA, NJ, PA again, MD again, VA again, NC, SC, GA, FL)
  • Miles – ~1,600
  • Minutes spent in the fast lane – ~3 (see cars in tow)
  • Times Chris said, “It’s the skinny one on the right, #$@*(%, push it down!,” to the car in front of us despite having a car in tow – I got too annoyed to keep counting
  • Gallons of gas – 115.049
  • Average miles per gallon – 13.9
  • Days we were homeless – 7
  • Hours in the car – 36.5
  • Hours napping in the car – 40 (Chris 4, Susan 0, Scottie 36)
  • Number of times Susan got yelled at while at a gas station – 1
  • Number of times we put the car into reverse – 0 (the reason behind the yelling at the gas station, see car in tow)
  • Italian sports cars spotted – 2 (1 Lamborghini, 1 Ferrari)
  • Family members visited – 9 (7 human, 1 canine, 1 feline)
  • Friends visited – 4
  • Dog parks visited – 1
  • New friends made – 1 (Dexter!)
  • Census data labs visited – 1
  • Beaches visited – 1
  • Mechanics visited – 1

See, aren’t you intrigued now?!?

Have a great my birthday weekend everyone!
